Kennedy Peddie

Athletic Therapist

(She/Her)

While born and raised in Ontario, I relocated to Nova Scotia, inspired by close family ties and a strong appreciation for the East Coast lifestyle developed during annual family trips. I am a certified Athletic Therapist and a graduate of Sheridan College, where I earned an Honours Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Athletic Therapy) Degree with High Honours. During my time at Sheridan College, I competed on the varsity women’s soccer team and was awarded the Sheridan Bruins Female Double Blue Scholar Award for excellence in both academics and athletics.

As an Athletic Therapist and First Responder, I have applied my knowledge across a variety of professional environments, integrating on-field care and clinical rehabilitation. I have supported athletes at the professional, varsity, high school, and club levels, gaining experience in sports such as soccer, basketball, football, wrestling, volleyball, hockey, gymnastics, figure skating, and most recently, ultimate frisbee. Throughout these roles, I have guided athletes through every stage of the recovery process, starting from the moment of injury with on-field stabilization and injury management, through acute healing and tissue rehabilitation, to sport-specific return-to-play exercises and full reintegration into competition. I achieve this through a combination of hands-on therapy and functional exercise, using movement patterns that closely reflect each individual’s daily demands and sport-specific requirements.

Kennedy

With a background in both artistic sports, as a former provincial gymnast and NCCP Artistic Gymnastics Comp Intro/Level 2 Coach, as well as experience in contact sports, I understand the unique demands of different athletic disciplines and adapt my therapeutic and support techniques accordingly. While Athletic Therapy is often associated primarily with athletes, I am passionate about helping individuals of all ages, abilities, and activity levels develop a desire for movement and return to the activities they enjoy.

Outside of my clinical work, I continue to embrace my passion for sport and movement. Whether weightlifting at the gym, dancing in a studio, training on the pitch, or flipping at a gymnastics facility, I maintain an active lifestyle that directly influences and enhances my work as an Athletic Therapist.
