Hi there, my name is Lori Lake and I am a registered social worker with over 20 years of experience. I have a Masters of Social Work specializing in clinical social work from University of Calgary.
I began my career in the non-profit sector working with vulnerable youth and families, then moved into the public health care system where I have worked for 19 years. During that time, I have worked in multiple health care settings with folks across the lifespan, including emergency, primary health care, community mental health and addictions.
I am passionate about what I do and find great honor in being able to meet people where they are and helping them work through life’s challenges. I value a compassionate approach to therapy, where individuals feel heard and validated throughout their therapeutic journey.
I offer treatment for a wide array of challenges, including mental health and addictions, adjustment, grief and loss, life transitions, caregiver burnout, and chronic health, to name a few. I have completed training in a number of evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solutions Focused and Narrative Therapy. I am currently in the last stage of certification with CA-CBT.
I look forward to our work together and supporting you on this journey.
